Summer Fun Printables!

The heat is definitely on in Southern Texas! I have been spending my days working on some fun new craft projects and trying to stay cool in the process. For those that are stuck in doors due to the heat, why not enjoy these fun Summer coloring sheets and word search with your little ones!

No one is too old for a bright set of crayons and something fun to color in =)

These printables are free for all! While you are more than welcome to print these for whatever occasion you prefer, I ask that you do not post these on your own website with consulting me first. I also ask that if I do give you permission, you must refer back to this website. I also ask that you do not edit out the tiny signature I have added to each page. Thank you and Enjoy!

When Google Docs opens, just click on file then print settings and preview and print OR you can download the image to your computer using the same link and print it that way as well.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration! Free Printables

The 5th of May, or Cinco de Mayo in Spanish, is almost here! Here in South Texas, there are always fun and colorful festivities that take place. For those that do not know, here is a little bit of history:

"Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a celebration held on May 5. It is celebrated in the United States and regionally in Mexico, primarily in the state of Puebla, where the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla). It originated with Mexican-American communities in the American West as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War, and today the date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín." -Wikipedia

Here in the south, there is music, dancing, tasty food, and lots of pride as we celebrate this special day.

I thought I would go ahead and take this time to share with you some of our favorite Cinco de Mayo Recipes!

Tacos de Bistec
Elotes (Mexican Corn on the Cob)
Aguas Frescas (Fruity Beverage)
Fajitas
Mexican Rice
Beans al la Charra
Guacamole

Seriously, all of these recipes are incredibly yummy and will please just about any hungry tummy!

In your downtime, why not enjoy these fun word search/coloring sheets with your kids!

Happy New Year!

2013 is just around the corner! This has been such a wonderful year of risks, firsts, and special moments. I hope that all of our readers take a moment to count their blessings and look toward the future with hope, love, and joy.

Thank you so much to all of you who have stood by our blog, facebook page, and Etsy shop (which turns 1 year this coming February! *squeel*)

For all of those plannings New Year's Eve and Day parties, we have put together two fun printables for you! Enjoy this free word search and coloring sheet! Feel free to print these for your own use or share it with friends and family! {Click on the Photos Below to enlage}

Just click on the above photos, right click and save the photos to your computer :) from there you can open then with your own paint program adjust to the size you want and print!

I used the word search maker over at Discovery Education - Word Search maker . You can print your word search straight from the website and make as many as you would like. The word search engine is plain text, so I added my word search to a decorated document using Paint Shop Pro. However, for the less than tech saavy, you can simply print the blank word search and have your children decorate the page themselves with festive drawings or stickers! Have fun making your own to share with your loved ones.
