Happy New Year!

2013 is just around the corner! This has been such a wonderful year of risks, firsts, and special moments. I hope that all of our readers take a moment to count their blessings and look toward the future with hope, love, and joy.

Thank you so much to all of you who have stood by our blog, facebook page, and Etsy shop (which turns 1 year this coming February! *squeel*)

For all of those plannings New Year's Eve and Day parties, we have put together two fun printables for you! Enjoy this free word search and coloring sheet! Feel free to print these for your own use or share it with friends and family! {Click on the Photos Below to enlage}

Just click on the above photos, right click and save the photos to your computer :) from there you can open then with your own paint program adjust to the size you want and print!

I used the word search maker over at Discovery Education - Word Search maker . You can print your word search straight from the website and make as many as you would like. The word search engine is plain text, so I added my word search to a decorated document using Paint Shop Pro. However, for the less than tech saavy, you can simply print the blank word search and have your children decorate the page themselves with festive drawings or stickers! Have fun making your own to share with your loved ones.

Bzzcampaign Review: Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream

Don't you just love how the cold and dry winter air loves to wreak havoc on your skin? No? I don't blame you! My skin is so dry and scaley during the winter I feel as If I should go outside and sunbathe on a rock like our local lizards do!

Luckily for me, Bzzagent has once again saved the day! I was fortunate enough to participate in Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream bzzcampaign. I have tried every lotion and miracle fix you can think and nothing ever works. If it doesn't completely avoid moisterizing my skin, it leaves a yucky oily residue instead. However, Neutrogena's hand cream has saved the day!

This wonderful creams story started off the coast of Norway, where fishermen were suffering the effects of life on the open ocean. Wind, cold and water were wreaking havoc on their skin.

Those fishermen developed a glycerin-rich cream to weather any storm. When applied to their skin, they found it relieved years' worth of chapping, cracking and drying caused by the harshest conditions on the planet.

Seriously, a round of applause goes out to the creators because this stuff is amazing! My dry skin is now lovingly moisturized and feels so incredibly soft! I love that they provided both samples of the original scent and the unscented. I prefer the fragrance free, but they are both fantastic!

Why should you consider switching lotions? Here is the "Just the Facts" portion from my incredibly helpful Bzzcampaign guide:

Just the Facts

When it comes to protecting hands from the rigors of daily use, Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream is the first choice of fishermen and manicurists alike. What makes this Neutrogena classic better than the rest?
  • Just one dab repairs 7 signs of damage: dryness, chapping, splitting nails, dry cuticles, scaliness and roughness
  • 2012 Good Housekeeping Seal award winner
  • First hand cream to heal with concentrated glycerin
  • Keeps Manicured hands looking beautiful
  • Long-lasting
  • Glycerin-rich
  • Concentrated
  • 2oz product good for 200 uses
  • Available in Original and Fragrance-Free
  • Suggested retail price of $4.99 per 2oz product
The product is definitely worth every penny and worth the time to try it!

Bzzcampaign Review: COVERGIRL'S BlastFlipStick Lip Shades

Well, we are finally enjoying the holiday season and with that comes our holiday pictures. My fiance and I always try to take one good photo for the holidays that we can cherish ...(more like laugh at) ...years from now :P.

I can never get my makeup right in these photos and I always end up laughing about it later. This year, I have had some help from the wonderful folks at www.bzzagent.com and CoverGirl!

As a Bzzagent, I was given the wonderful opportunity to try three wonderful shades from Covergirl's new line of Blastflipstick lip shades!

The name is a mouthful, but the product really is amazing. I was able to try out Vixen, Stunner, and Minx.

I love the fact that it really is almost two lipsticks in one, but it is the layering effect that makes this product unique. If you were already laying lipsticks before, this will help you save room in your makeup bag by carrying one lipstick in stead of two or three. One side is a lovely flat color while the other has a pearly shine to it. Above is a chart with the colors so you can find one that suits you or you can visit: http://www.covergirl.com/blastflipstick to learn more!

My only complaint is that I wish the pearly side wasn't as bold. I would have liked it to be more of a gloss, but that is my own personal preference and really doesn't take anything away from this product as it really is simply amazing.

The Blastflipstick retails for approximately $8.49 which may seem a bit high for some, but when you really look at it you are buying two lip colors at about $4.25 a piece which is a great deal.

So, if you are you looking into a new lip color to play with or if you just want to try something new, you really should give this one a go

As always, To learn more about CoverGirl's Blastflipstick line visit: http://www.covergirl.com/blastflipstick

Christmas Themed Word Search!

With Christmas just around the corner, we have been busy little worker bees around here! We have been working on new orders, setting up the tree, wrapping gifts, baking cookies .... tasting cookies, lol well you get the idea. In my down time though, I really enjoy working on word search puzzles. I have always really enjoyed them and really have fun working on them. This year I decided to create my own! Feel free to print this one for your own use or share it with friends and family! {Click on the Photo Below to enlage}

It turns out, making these is actually quite simple with a little help from the internet.

Bzzcampaign Review: Unreal Candy: Unjunk Your Candy!

Who doesn't love a little bit of chocolate every now and then? Well, I am one of those that like it a little bit more often than that! So, when I heard I had been selected to try out Unreal Candy's unjunked line of candy bars, I was ecstatic!

Then I found out they were healthier versions and my bubble popped just a bit, but I decided to give them a try anyway! First, I headed over to my local Walgreens ... they didn't have it. My second try was more successful ;) I purchased The Unreal 5 Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar unjunked, and I redeemed a coupon for a Unreal 8 Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bar unjunked. I then proceeded to head home with my chocolatey loot!

Once I arrived home, I checked my mail and saw that an issue of STAR Magazine had arrived. I typically don't read it and I donate them to my dentist's office, but today I sat down and skimmed through the pages. What do I find on page 24 of this weeks issue?

I was just kind of shocked that after I had just purchased the candy bars myself, the bars were featured in the weekly picks of the magazine! I went over the packages and started reading the labels and skimmed over the nutritional value:

And now for the best part ... the taste test! These bars are absolutely amazing! My fiance has very sensitive teeth and is often unable to partake in many chocolatey sweets as they end up hurting his teeth. He thoroughly enjoyed his Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar! The sweetness was definitely there, but not in an "omg my teeth are going to rot out!" kinda way. I enjoyed the Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bar. I am not going to lie, I am a die hard Snickers fan and I am switching! These bars are absolutely amazing and VERY affordable (I purchased mine for 88 cents using my CVS card which was given to me free at purchase).

So if you have been thinking about trying these bars, DO IT! You definitely won't regret it :)

Eloisa James: The Ugly Duchess

Those who know me, know how much I adore reading. My absolute favorite genre would have to be historical romance novels hands down! They are always full of romance, spice, and a happy ending... what more could you possibly ask for?!

One of my absolute favorite authors, Eloisa James, has given her loyal readers the wonderful opportunity of becoming ambassadors to help spread the word about her newest novel, The Ugly Duchess.

When I received my package in the mail, I was amazed at her generosity! I have already begun scribbling notes in my notepad, and my magnet has already claimed its spot on my fridge. I have a small group of friends who enjoy reading as much as I do, and I have already begun gifting my bookmarks! I have also been a little sneaky and have "forgotten" several bookmarks in books I have borrowed from friends. All of them are avid readers such as myself and were definitely pleased with not only a new bookmark, which is always better than bending page corners, but they were also pleased to learn about an author of their favored genre.

How can she dare to imagine he loves her... when all London calls her The Ugly Duchess?
Theodora Saxby is the last woman anyone expects the gorgeous James Ryburn, heir to the Duchy of Ashbrook, to marry. But after a romantic proposal before the prince himself, even practical Theo finds herself convinced of her soon-to-be duke's passion.
Still, the tabloids give the marriage six months.
Theo would have given it a lifetime... until she discovers that James desired not her heart, and certainly not her countenance, but her dowry.
Society was shocked by their wedding... and is scandalized by their separation.
Now James faces the battle of his life, convincing Theo that he loves the duckling who blossomed into the swan.
And Theo will quickly find that, for a man with the soul of a pirate, All's Fair in Love - and War.

Bzzagent Campaign: Glade Expressions Collection

I am just going to start off by saying WOW! I have tried many air fresheners. I have tried diffusers, sprays, neutralizers, scented oils, candles... the list can go on and on. You name, chances are I have tried it. I am not going to lie, I was VERY skeptical when I heard I would be trying Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist and Oil Diffuser.

I received my coupons in the mail and headed out to my local walmart to view the selection. I decided upon the Pineapple & Mangosteen scents for both my fragrance mist and my oil diffuser.

I set up my oil diffuser which was quick and painless. NO muss whatsoever, you just snap everything into place. I was amazed at how wonderful the set was! I kept telling myself "eh the scent will die down after an hour and I won't even know I have it anymore". WOW was I wrong! A few days later, and the diffuser is still as fragrant as ever! It just smells so absolutely delicious! We have two small dogs in the house and you would never be able to tell! The scent is amazing and the holder itself is quite pretty and blends in nicely with the decor.

The spray is also absolutely wonderful! I tend to run a quick spritz in each room after returning home after a long day and the scent just really sets a relaxing atmosphere. Both the spray and diffuser are also very affordable and pay for themselves! When you think of how quickly you go through those $1 sprays, the value just isn't really there. After receiving my kit, I have not had to run to the store for a quick fix fragrance!

So, for those looking to try something new, or are just frustrated with your own go-to scents, I really do highly recommend the Glade Expressions collection. I know I wasn't disappointed!

Featured Etsy Shop: Bloomingtails Dog Duds

This has just been such a wonderful week! The Texas heat may be terrible, but I have managed to make the best of it and still enjoy the week with a huge smile on my face =).

Tuesday was definitely mail day! I received several supply packages I had ordered along with a few other various letters. Included in our mail was a fantastic package from Bloomingtails Dog Duds! We won a fabulous giveaway through the Gulf Coast Crafters Team Blog, and were so pleased to find that we won a stunning coat made to fit my adorable pooch Hershey!

I love the fit! I made sure to order a size that was just a bit larger than my little Hershey as she really only enjoys wearing clothing that is loose fitting (much like her owner! lol I could live in pj's if allowed!) I also love how soft the material is! It is not as heavy as I first thought, which I absolutely love. This will definitely be perfect for those cooler winter months when my room gets exceptionally chilly.

Bloomingtails Dog Duds Etsy shop offers an absolutely lovely selection of clothing for just about any style. All of the outfits are unique and colorful and are definitely the perfect gift for any pampered pooch. From adorable dresses to casual coats, there is definitely something there for everyone's tastes!

Bzzagent Campaign: Dentyne Ice Split2Fit Packs

What a pleasant surprise it was to come home after a long day of classes (running my online shop and taking my Fall semester college courses definitely keep me on my toes!) to find that one of my bzzagent campaign kits had arrived!

As I entered the living room, My younger sister (also a college student) and her boyfriend were relaxing on the sofas enjoying their usual crime shows. As soon as they saw the package in my hands, I saw smiles spread from ear to ear!

I sat down to open my package:

This was definitely a generous kit! There were two 3 count packs of the new Dentyne Ice Split2Fit packs of gum! that is 48 pieces of gum times two!

I seriously loved the Official Bzzguide that came in the package. The information was clever and witty and definitely fun to read. Here is the "Scoop" portion of my bzzguide for you to read:

The Scoop

Welcome to Split2Fit 101
So how, exactly, do you go from 1 Split2Fit 16 piece pack to 2 packs of 8? Welcome to Split2Fit 101. Please open your textbooks to page 1.
Step 1: Take your Split2Fit pack and open it up.
Step 2: Tear it right down the middle.
It's as simple as 1,2...well, yeah, just 1 and then 2. That's all there is. Now you're ready to slip a pack into your jeans or clutch and head out.
Advanced Split2Fit
Assuming you didn't somehow manage to flunk Split2Fit 101 the first time around, you now know to split your pack of gum into two distinct packs. But why would you need to do this? Here are some classic examples:
  • For the ladies!
  • Conversely: For the fellas!
  • You're always on the go and need your gum to be in two places at once, just like you
  • You show up to a party but forgot to bring a present
  • A bear stumbles into your path. Just trust us on this one
You have now successfully graduated from Split2Fit University. Magna Cum Laude, nonetheless. Please line up to the right for your diploma. (www.bzzagent.com)

_____________________________________

So after reading the guide, my first packet of gum was ...hmmm I guess the word mauled comes to mind! My sister and her boyfriend chose the spearmint and arctic ice packs while my mother chose the peppermint. They too have begun sharing their gum with fellow classmates, bandmates (my sister's boyfriend is in a band), and fellow friends and family. We have heard some amazing reviews about how easy it is to split the pack in two; one to go and one for the car, purse, desk, etc. It is definitely a convenient way to have some breath refreshing gum on the go without having to buy two separate packs!

Flavors include:

Peppermint
Arctic Ice
Spearmint
Cinnamon
Mint Frost

Book Review: Cassie and The Wild Cat: Meet and Greet

At the start of the week, I received a message from an author asking me to review some of his childrens books that are available on Amazon. I happily agreed, and thought I would share my reviews with you! There are four books  in total, so I will post 1 review each day. Today's book is:

Cassie and The Wild Cat: Meet and Greet

This is an adorable tale for just about anyone. The rhymes are enjoyable and easy to follow and the illustrations are adorable.  Cassie and The Wild Cat: Meet and Greet is a wonderful tale of two cats with their own Personalities. While one cat pulls her little antics, the other always seems to be one step ahead. In the end, the story teaches us the value of friendship and the unexpected places we find it. This lovely rhyming tale will bring a smile to your face and help us remember to have fun and value all the little things in life even if they may not seem so pleasant at the time.

Pinterest Test: Mini Taco Bowls

Who doesn't love tacos? Seriously! They are crazy delicious and fun to eat. I was looking for a new and fun recipe to try today and found a fun taco bowl recipe through Pinterest!

http://pinterest.com/pin/184718022187200791/

The post originates from Kraft foods, so it was bound to be delicious:

http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/mini-taco-bowls-94521.aspx

Alrighty, so we changed up the recipe just a tad to use what we already had on hand. I started by forming my taco bowls with store bought tortillas in a muffin pan. I formed mine inside the muffin tins rather than turn them over and it seemed to work out just fine, They baked for about  10-13 minutes at 350°F.

While they were baking, I already had my ground beef browning. Once I drained the grease, I added in finely chopped garlic and onion, salt and pepper, about a tsp of cumin, a tsp of chilli powder, and a few shakes of garlic pepper. I like my food a little spicy so I also seasoned my meat with a few splashes of hot sauce (Yum!)

I heated up my can of beans and just lightly added a little bit of salt and pepper

I had already diced up some lettuce, tomato and lime for toppings and I busted out our bag of shredded cheddar cheese.

Another topping I made was quicky corn and tomato salsa (corn, can of diced tomatoes and green chillies, salt, pepper, red chilli powder, lime)

We set up the dining room table with our dishes so everyone could pick and choose how they wanted to customize their taco bowls. It was a huge hit!

I HIGHLY recommend this pin! It is a fun way to server dinner to the people I love most. The conversation was great and everyone enjoyed the meal. Cleanup was a snap as I was able to keep dishes to a minimum and I wasn't worn out at all!

So was this project as easy as described?

The Verdict: YES!

Facing your Fears! My biggest fear? Custom Orders!

So lately I have been trying my hand at a few local custom orders. I have always been a little nervous about them as I am scared stiff that I will miss an important detail and the customer will be unhappy.

I recently took on a few custom headband orders inspired by anime and cosplay! These were the results:

(Pink and Gold Horned Headband)

(Orange and Striped Horned Headband)

(Denim Fox Eared Headband with Vintage Lace and Fabric)

They were tons of fun to make and the customer was VERY pleased with the purchase as they were based on her own designs! I finally faced my fear and I feel all the better for it! What are some of your crafting fears that you faced or plan to face? I would love to hear your stories!
